Let's do some general breakdown of this book...
First off, the main character doesn't even find the raiders until well over halfway through the book.
Second, there are soooooo many characters, it's hard to keep them all straight, even with the legend inside the book.
Third, do NOT, I repeat do NOT get attached to the main character's animal companions. SHE NEVER GETS TO KEEP THEM. Don't even bother learning their names, it'll only end in tears.
The love triangle that didn't need to be a thing?? Talk about making your character make a bad life decision just for the sake of word count.
The cover of this book is VERY misleading, and honestly, very few people actually burn.
I REALLY had to drag myself through this one, but in the end, I'll give it 2 stars. Persevere, my friends, persevere!
